Delivered keynote speeches and served as Emcees at the SLS High School State Leadership Conference. Served on the planning committee of the SLS High School State Leadership Conference, planning all aspects from entertainment to special receptions to regional networking sessions. Collaborated with national youth-led prevention groups to develop, plan, and host the 2002 International Collaborative Teen Conference. Designed and conducted regional day-long Leadership Seminars across the state. Designed and presented workshops at the statewide Middle School Alcohol and Other Drug Conference. Seated as representatives of SLS on the State Initiative Grant (SIG) Advisory Committee. Testified at statewide Drug Free School and Community and School Board Meetings. Informed local community leaders, state leaders and U.S. Senators and Congressmen about the strategies of SLS to improve youth traffic safety and end underage drinking and other drug use. Taught thousands of 5th graders statewide to say no to alcohol and other drugs in the Peer Resistance Skills lesson. Represented SLS in radio, newspaper, and television media opportunities. Conducted regular regional chapter networking meetings. Contacted high school youth-led prevention groups, clubs, and chapters in their area to offer guidance and encouragement. Certified trainers in Mississippi State University and 4-H Council s Health Rocks! middle school tobacco prevention curriculum. Assisted middle school students and advisors who are developing STAND chapters. Conducted leadership workshops and conferences for STAND chapters. Presented workshops on communication, decision-making, and assertiveness for parents of high school, middle school, and elementary students. Reviewed materials for the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning made recommendations for the 1996-1997 Zip, Zero, Zilch awareness campaign. Wrote articles for SLS Informer newsletter, SLS s statewide publication. Developed and presented workshops at the State of Michigan Traffic Safety Summit for law enforcement, judicial, and traffic safety professionals. Designed and presented one-day leadership conference for 400 members from the state of Ohio.
